1. 研究目的与意义
Culture-loaded words referto the words that can best embody the language carrying cultural informationand reflecting the social life. These words, though modest in form, conveymeaning much more profound than can be expected. Usually they cover variousaspects of culture—ecological, material, social, religious and linguisticculture. Meticulous examination of the culture-loaded words characteristic ofChinese culture is critical to displaying our rich culture to the outsideworld. With increasingly frequent cultural communication among nations, it isof great significance to ingeniously translate those words.
Xi Jinping’s speeches areawash with culture-loaded words, a sign of the rich history of a country. Speechesof the president assumes a pivotal role as China strives to bring its ownstories and culture abroad. These culture-loaded words include various aspectssuch as ecology, society and religion. Xi’s speeches are therefore worthy of attentionat a time when cultural transmission is the top priority of our country.
Translation can never beoveremphasized when China works to bring its own culture to the whole world. The culture-loaded words, once aptly translated, can yield unexpected results. Thetranslation of the critical speeches delivered by the president makes it easierfor foreigners to understand Chinese culture. It offers an insight into theprofound culture China boasts, thus laying a solid foundation for culturaltransmission.

3. 国内外研究现状
Recent years have witnessed remarkable achievementsof scholars both at home and abroad in the studies of Xi Jinping’s speeches andthe translations.
Foreign study on Xi Jinping’s speeches mainly focuson the ideas conveyed in them. Basically, efforts have been made to study politicallyrelated matters and speeches concerning Chinese culture through thetranslations currently available. In recent speeches delivered by Xi Jinping, much of the attention has been paid to the Chinese Dream and ways to realizethe dream (MOHANTY, M., 2013). Of course, other than the introduction of variousnotions, Xi’s speeches also offer insight into the Chinese Communist Party’s roadmapfor China’s global resurgence(Johnson, C. K. 2016). Speeches providing glimpseinto distinctive Chinese culture have also attracted the attention of foreignscholars (Penny, B. ,2015). Generally speaking, foreign scholars do not lay asmuch emphasis on the translation strategies as on the content of Xi’s speeches.
Chinese scholars care more about how the speechesare translated. Basically, they attach importance to the classification ofculture-loaded words in Xi’s speeches and translation strategies employed inthese speeches. Culture-loaded words can be translated from the perspective ofbiological translation(Pu Biao,2019). Skopos theory can also be applied in thestudy of translation strategies of Xi’s speeches(Wang Botong, 2020).
