3. 国内外研究现状

Recent years have witnessed remarkable achievementsof scholars both at home and abroad in the studies of Xi Jinping’s speeches andthe translations.

Foreign study on Xi Jinping’s speeches mainly focuson the ideas conveyed in them. Basically, efforts have been made to study politicallyrelated matters and speeches concerning Chinese culture through thetranslations currently available. In recent speeches delivered by Xi Jinping, much of the attention has been paid to the Chinese Dream and ways to realizethe dream (MOHANTY, M., 2013). Of course, other than the introduction of variousnotions, Xi’s speeches also offer insight into the Chinese Communist Party’s roadmapfor China’s global resurgence(Johnson, C. K. 2016). Speeches providing glimpseinto distinctive Chinese culture have also attracted the attention of foreignscholars (Penny, B. ,2015). Generally speaking, foreign scholars do not lay asmuch emphasis on the translation strategies as on the content of Xi’s speeches.

Chinese scholars care more about how the speechesare translated. Basically, they attach importance to the classification ofculture-loaded words in Xi’s speeches and translation strategies employed inthese speeches. Culture-loaded words can be translated from the perspective ofbiological translation(Pu Biao,2019). Skopos theory can also be applied in thestudy of translation strategies of Xi’s speeches(Wang Botong, 2020).
