2. 文献综述
Before the author writes the thesis, a lot of articles aboutthereform of English teaching,Englishlearning,the pragmatismtheory and its developments in China are analyzed, as well as its influenceon Chinese education. The following is the brief introduction to previousliteratures about college students English learning in the four years of theuniversities.
The predecessors mainlyfocus on learning strategies, learning motivations and learning methods inEnglish learning.
There are two main types of strategies in English learning, implicitstrategies and explicit strategies. College students use explicit strategiesfor most time and more strategies are used by those students with higher scoresof English. Besides, girls use strategies more frequently than boys. Strategiesusing reflects students subjective initiative during learning English. Normally,strategies can help students have a better understanding of what they havelearned, which finally presents in the form of high scores in exams.
